**”The Fix” Review: A Sci-Fi Effort That Needed More Fixing** Kelsey Egan’s “The Fix” presents us with an interesting concept, no doubt. Set in a future where breathing itself has become dangerous, the film follows a model who undergoes a dramatic transformation after taking an experimental drug. The premise is quite engaging, and one must appreciate the attempt to blend environmental concerns with body horror elements. However, the execution leaves much to be desired. Grace Van Dien tries her best as the tortured protagonist, but the script doesn’t give her enough material to truly shine. Daniel Sharman and Keenan Arrison provide decent support, yet their characters feel underdeveloped. The pacing is uneven, with some moments dragging unnecessarily while crucial plot points feel rushed. Visually, the film has its moments, especially in depicting the toxic world and the protagonist’s mutations. But the low budget is quite apparent in several scenes. The direction shows promise, but the storytelling lacks the emotional depth needed to make us truly care about the characters’ fates. While the idea of mutations potentially saving humanity is thought-provoking, the film fails to explore this theme with the depth it deserves. At 4.7/10 on IMDB, this rating seems fair.
