When Professor Parker Wilson saab was coming back from work by local train, his heart melted like jalebi for a little Akita puppy who had somehow escaped his travel box. Station wala said they couldn’t keep him and dog uncle warned that even such a cute face might not find a home within the two-week period. So Parker saab, being kind-hearted type, brought the furball home. His memsaab wife Cate was initially showing her angry cat face and made him promise it would be temporary, but the doggie worked his magic on their daughter Andy and her Michael so fast you wouldn’t believe! Japanese friend Ken suggested the name Hachi. The dog became a daily fixture at the station waiting for his master, even after Parker saab passed away due to heart trouble. Hachi kept waiting faithfully, becoming everyone’s darling in the town. Years later, Michael’s son Robbie writes about this loyal friend as his hero for a school project, getting inspired to bring home an Akita puppy too.
